difine an irrational number . how does it differ from rational number​

Rational number is a number which can be written in the form of p/q where q≠0

Any number which is not rational falls in the category of irrational

they are different from rational number

for ex-

2,3,π,etc they are different from rational number as they can not be arranged in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q0

Irrational number :- A number which can’t be expressed as an terminating decimal or recurring decimal and fractional form is called irrational.

 

Example :- π, (3.1415926535)

 

Irrational number :- It is different from Rational number because Rational number is a number which can be expressed as fractional form or terminating decimal form is called rational number. It is exactly the opposite of Irrational number.

 

Example :- 5 , 7/8 , .21
