Rest:

➪ When a body is not changing its position with respect to its surroundings, it is said to be at rest. For example, fans on the ceiling, black boards are fixed in our classrooms and vehicles are parked in the parking area.

Motion:

➪ A body is said to be in motion if it changes its position with respect to time and surroundings. For example, flying birds, a moving car, blades of fan and spinning of the earth on its axis.
