The main difference between a turgid cell and flaccid cell is that a turgid cell contains more water and a flaccid cell lacks water. In plants when the stomatal cells become turgid the guard cell opens and when they become flaccid the guard cell closes. So turgidity and flaccidity in plants control photosynthesis and transpiration.
