Unit of emf is volt

Volt is unit of Voltage

Voltage or potential difference is given by :-

V=W/q

So I can write :-

emf =W/q --------------------------------------(1)

W is work

W=Fs

W=Nm

W=kgms^_2.m

W=kgm^2s^_2 ----------------------------(a)

q is charge which is equal to

Q=It

Q=As -----------------------------( b )

Put a , b in equation 1

emf = kgm^2s^_2 /As

emf =kgm^2s^_3A^_1

So......

Dimensions are :-
