The opposition to the flow of electric current is called resistance. It is represented by "R" and its unit is Ohm Ω

Resistance is given by the formula:

R = V / I

where V is the voltage measured in volts 'V' and I is the current measured in amperes 'A'

We have to find the dimensional formula of resistance.

Since we know that,

Dimensional formula for V = M L² T ⁻³ A⁻¹

Dimensional formula for I = A

Put these values in the equation of resistance we get:

Dimensional formula for R = M L² T ⁻³ A⁻¹ / A

Dimensional formula for R = M L² T ⁻³ A⁻²

Answer:

The SI unit of power is the watt, where 1 watt = 1 joule per second. Back to our circuit! To use the power rule (P = I × V), we need to know both the current through the resistor, and the voltage across the resistor. First, we use Ohm's law ( V = I × R ), to find the current through the resistor.
