Dinner for a Stranger 1. There lived an old man and his wife. They were poor. They had little to eat. One day a stranger came to their cottage. He said, "I have travelled all day. I am very hungry. May I have something to eat?" 2. The old couple welcomed the stranger. They placed before him their own dinner. It was only four slices of bread and a glass of milk. The couple knew that there was no more food in the house. They would have to go hungry that night. But they were happy that the stranger had a good meal. In the end, nothing was left but a bit of bread and a sip of milk. The stranger said, "Thank you very much," and went away.
