1. SON Rule
→ In this rule, first person change into subject of the sentence, second person change into object of sentence and third person does not change.
1st Person → Subject
2nd Person → Object
3rd Person → No Change
2. Change of Tense
→ In this rule, all the formula of present tense converts into past tense when we convert direct into indirect speech.
→ Simple past tense convert convert into past perfect and past continuous converts into past perfect continuous. Past perfect has no change of tense. Past perfect continuous also has no change of tense. "Shall/will" converts into "should/would". "Can" converts into "could". "May" converts into "might". "Could/should/would/might" generally doesn't change.
3. Change of other Parts of Speech
→ "This" converts into "that". "These" converts into "those". "Yesterday" converts into "the day before". "Tommorow" converts into "the following day". "Today" converts into "that day". "Thus" converts into "so". "Now" converts into "then". "Hence" converts into "thence". "Here" converts into "there".
