-> Ravi requested Gopal to meet him without fail the next day at the mall.
2) Ravi said to Shreya "do you know if tomorrow is a holiday?"
-> Ravi asked Shreya is she knew the next day was a holiday.
3) Ravi said to them "are you all happy now?"
-> Ravi asked them if they were happy then.
4) Ravi said to me "will you keep quiet for sometime?"
-> Ravi asked me whether I could keep quiet for sometime.
5) Ravi says "i wont be writing tomorrow's test"
-> Ravi told that he would not write the next day's test.

Direct or quoted speech is spoken or written text that reports speech or thought in its original form phrased by the original speaker; in narrative, it is usually enclosed in quotation marks, but could be enclosed in guillemet. The cited speaker is either mentioned in the inquit or implied.
For example - Siya said "I have a test tomorrow"
WHAT IS INDIRECT SPEECH?
Indirect speech, also known as reported speech or indirect discourse, is a means of expressing the content of statements, questions or other utterances, without quoting them explicitly as is done in direct speech.
For example - Siya told that she had a test the next day.
IMPORTANT POINTS :
Few words that change to when changed to Indirect Speech :
- Today - That day/ the same day
- Tomorrow - The next day/The following day
- Yesterday - The day before/The previous day
- Next week/month/year - The following week/month/year
- Last week - The previous week
- Now/just - Then
- Ago - Before
- Here - There
- This - That

- Simple Present - Simple Past
- Present Continuous - Past Continuous
- Present Perfect - Past Perfect
- Simple Past - Past Perfect
- Past Continuous - Past Perfect Continuous
- Past Perfect - Past Perfect(tense does not change)
- Simple Future Tense( will) - (changes into would)
- Future Continuous tense (will be) - (changes into would be)
- Future Perfect Tense(will have) - (changes into would have)
