 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

Speed is directly proportional to distance

⇒ The faster the speed, the more distance you can cover in the same given time

Speed is inversely proportional to time

⇒ The faster the speed, the lesser the time needed

.

Step 1: Convert 4 hours 12 mins to hours

4 hours 12 mins = 4 12/60 = 21/5 hours.

.............................................................................................

STEP 2: Find the distance covered:

1 hour = 35 km

21/5 hours = 35 x 21/5 = 147 km

.............................................................................................

STEP 3: Find the time needed if the speed is 45 km/h:

45 km = 1 hour

1 km = 1/45 hour

147 km = 1/45 x 147 = 3 4/15 hours

3 4/15 hours = 3 hours 16 mins

.............................................................................................

Answer: It will take 3 hours 16 mins to cover the same distance.
