AC or Alternating current doesn't have a constant magnetic flux thus the current changes continously ...2 slip rings are used and the magnets it self rotates..
DC or Direct current has constant magnetic flux thus the current doest change..only 1 slip ring is used and it is shared by both commutators..here slip rings rotate..
