  • Two values are said to be in direct proportion when increase in one results in an increase in the other.
  • If xis directly proportional to  y .
  • Then
  • x₁/x₂ = y₁/y₂
  • Similarly, they are said to be in indirect proportion when the increase in one results in a decrease in the other.
  • If x is inversely proportional to y.
  • Then
  • x₁/x₂ = y₂/y₁

Answer:

Like Direct and  Indirect(Inverse) Unitary Methord, Direct and Indirect(Inverse) Proportion stands for same. Direct Proportion means when both mean and extreme increases or decreases at the same time. In Indirect(Inverse) Proportion, when mean or extreme increases or decreases the other becomes opposite(if mean or extreme increases other decreases or if mean or extreme decreases the other increases).
