Answer:

1. The easiest type perform is the flat position, which also sometimes called the down hand position . It involves welding on the top side of the point .In this position the molten metal is drawn down word into the joint .The result is faster and easier weld .

2. Hot pass :-

The weld the passes the immediately fallows the stringer (root) pass .A root breed and hot pass generally the minimum amount of weld that must be done before the crane / side boom e.t.c. can be realized and the weld can left completely to to cool and the filled and capped at the later time/ date .

Filling pass:-

It is the amount of weld bead necessary to fill the weld joint ... keyhole - refers to the shape of the hole that is formed while welding an open root joint , particularly with an AWS 6010 SMAW electrode .It allows for good penetration and to in the complete weld .

3.The 7018 is the backbone of structural welding .This rod runs diffrence from 6010and 6011 rods -it is much smoother and easier .More of a"drag" rod , the 7018 is also referred to as a low hydrogen , or low high , rose in the field . The flux contains almost no hydrogen , and the rod produces smooth, strong welds that are very ductile.

For these reason , these rods are used extensively in structural welding .
