- Root cells tend to take up water through osmosis.
- When the quantity of water is more in the soil as compared to the quantity of water in a root cell, water is absorbed from the soil by the root cell through the process of osmosis.
- The reason is false because cells can either gain or lose water through osmosis. If water quantity is more inside a cell as compared to outer environment, then the water will move out of cell through osmosis.
