Electric current simply means flow of electrons .Therefore according to it the current should flow in the direction of flow of electrons but according to the convention the current flows in the direction of positive charge hence current flows opposite to the direction of electrons.

direction of current is from positive to negative. this is because flow of elections constitute charge but the as a convention direction is taken opposite to it.
