"The frequency is measured in hertz which means cycles per second.

It changes direction every 1/100th of a second but to complete one full cycle of the sine wave curve from start to finish takes twice as long so the frequency is 50 cycles per second.

time period=2*(time taken to change direction)

frequency =1/time period

=1/(2/100)=50
