In mathematics and physics, two variables are proportional if there is always a constant ratio between them. The constant is called the coefficient of proportionality or proportionality constant. If one variable is always the product of the other variable and a constant, the two are said to be directly proportional.

it means one value will vary directly with another.
suppose
A and B r directly proportional
1) if A's value decreases so will B's and if A's value increases so will B's
2) if B's value decreases so will A's and if B's value increases so will A's

HOPE IT HELPS U.
