Disadvantage caused by the used of hard water in domestic and boiler feed water

There are numerous disadvantages of both domestic and industrial usage of hard water that includes:

Domestic:

It becomes extremely difficult to wash clothes as using hard water requires more soap and isn’t washed out easily. Apart from that boiling hard water leaves deposits of calcium and magnesium carbonates that ruins the utensils.

Industrial/ Boliers:  

Using hard water in boilers can result in coating of carbonates inside the tube that affects the efficiency of the boilers. Also, Hard water release excess oxygen that changes the Ph of the water causing it react with the surface material of water leading to gradual corrosion.
