Disadvantage of intercroping and crop rotation

This has several disadvantages: it is difficult to maintain cover on the soil; it en- courages pests, diseases and weeds; and it can reduce the soil fertility and damage the soil structure. So avoid monocropping if you can. It is much better to rotate crops, or use intercropping or strip cropping.
