According to me, the current reservation system is definetely bad for India. You can not uplift someone at the cost of others. What is happening in India now is that the general category is feeling the pinch of this reservation system. Reservation was meant to provide opportunities to those who lag behind in several fields. Now there are so many people who belong to the reserved category but are very rich and influential. Then why reservation to them? On the other hand, there are many families which belong to the open category but are poor and don't have any means to improve their standard of living. There is no reservation to these people. Basically what I am trying to say is that reservation should be there but on the basis of income level, not on the traditional caste basis. I guess if this happens no one will have a problem with reservations.
