Disadvantages of Solar Energy:---

1. Depends on weather---

The effective production ofof solar energy by solar collectors depends totally on the light of sun. Although solar energy can also be absorbed on cloudy and rainy days also, but the efficiency of the solar energy system decreases.

Also, this fact should be brought to notice that solar energy can not be stored at night.

2. It takes up a lot of space---

The more ELECTRICITY you wantto produce , more SOLAR CELLS you need, to collect as much electricity as possible. Solar modules take up a lot of space that can not be accomodated on a limited no. of roofs. An alternative of installing the solar modules in a big open yard can be used but they must have an clear and sufficient access to sunlight.

3 .Costs Related---

The cost of purchasing a Solar Energy System is very high. This includes payments for Solar modules, inverters, installations, wirings and batteries.

4. Low power output compared to other options---

Large solar energy systems often have a much lower output than fossil fuel systems. Althoug, we can not expect solar power plants to exceed the capacity of thermal power plants but still they are still a viable solution for producing large amount of electricity, both clean and renewable.

5. Storing Solar Energy is expensive---

Solar energy can be used immediately or can be stored in Large Batteries, which enables us to use solar energy all day long, but it is also quite expensive.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER MATE. HOPE IT HELPS AND IF IT DOES, THEN DO MARK MY ANSWER AS BRAINLIEST.....

Disadvantages of Solar Energy:

  • The primary disadvantage of solar energy is that it obviously cannot be created during the night.

  • The power generated is also reduced during tines of cloud cover (although energy is still produced on a cloudy day).

  • Solar pan energy is maximized when the panel is directly facing the sun.

  • Most efficient Solar cells only convert just over 20% of the Sun rays to electricity.

  • With increased advances in solar cell technology this number is likely to increase.

  • Installing solar panels is quite expensive. However, the cost of solar panels incurred is only the initial cost, as after buying and installation, they create free energy for use.
