#12692425 Jun 2015 18:54Points:2 (Rs 2)Addiction of chatting for a long time and checking news feeds most of the time on social websites like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. would be the disadvantages. It spoils our precious time so we can avoid doing this, if it is necessary then use these social websites twice or thrice a day for few minutes.
Advantage is - As our friends, family members and office colleagues who all are living near by us or far away, are connected through these social websites. So we can check their present status and activities, and even share our updates. We can find our old friends and colleagues through these websites. So in some cases these websites are very useful.
#12693025 Jun 2015 21:09Points:3 (Rs 3)There are some of the advantages which are really good. For example, whatsapp can reduce your spendings on SMS and also on the other forms of messaging that we do for paid. For example, the free call feature can reduce your calls. As for facebook, it is good for connecting to the people who are far away from us. Also it can be good to share stuff with friends and family.

As for disadvantages, it has more of less becomes an addiction. You also spend a lot of money on internet bandwidth. You may even have issues concentrating and socializing in real life. So these are some of the cons that are affecting human life more.
#12695226 Jun 2015 02:48Points:1 (Rs 1)These applications are useful only after completing studies and getting settled in some decent career. Students who indulge in these applications as an addict are definitely going to be second grade citizens in future. Its limited use for interaction with study groups and exchange of academic data can be useful provided the user is limiting its use to that very purpose only.Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.#12696426 Jun 2015 05:53Points:5 (Rs 5)It's not a topic of debate; though it does have pros and cons. Social Networking sites are made for the convenience of people, certainly they have advantages, which can be seen easily.
Advantage of Facebook is that you can connect with people from around the world. You can connect with your old friends. You can share your photos (and videos). Facebook is a platform to embellish your 'memories'. It's helpful in marketing and advertising (Companies and even an individual can advertise their products/store/brand to a large extent). One can also make a page for some special 'talent', for instance, Photography pages are quite popular on Facebook. Facebook can also be helpful when you've to gain some information on regular basis (several educational pages provide these). One can also make a good Facebook account, which can get them a job (there are many Daily soap production companies selecting their actors from Facebook).
Disadvantage of Facebook is that it might be addictive, time consuming, dangerous (for minors), a cause of distraction, hurdle in one's privacy and obstructive.
WhatsApp is a narrower platform in comparison to Facebook. It's just an advanced form of texting, which we used to do via Messages earlier. Through WhatsApp, one can share pictures, videos or any other file, and it provides privacy to users. It's a cheap medium to send messages, and offers free calls too now. Basically it's an entertaining yet helpful medium for users of any age.

Disadvantages of WhatsApp are same as Facebook. Though privacy and security, I guess, are provided in WhatsApp.
Both Facebook and WhatsApp may be harmful for children for their career, personality and security.
(P.S.- Has your question not been reviewed?)
