The Industrial Revolution began in the late 1700s in Great Britain. Throughout the 1800s and 1900s the Industrial Revolution spread throughout Europe and to America. This revolution led to the industrialization of markets and textiles, mass production of goods, and the creation of a working class. The Industrial Revolution brought about advancements in communication, transportation, and banking.
Disadvantages that accompanied the Industrial Revolution were numerous and mostly involved the poor conditions for the poor and working classes.
In addition to this, industrialization replaced craftspeople who did small-scale work before the revolution. This put quite a few people who had worked with their hands all their lives out of work. People who had once bought their hand-crafted items, were now buying items that were mass- produced and less expensive. As the years went by conditions slowly improved, but in the early years there were perhaps as many disadvantages as there were advantages to the Industrial Revolution.
