Disadvantages and advantages of multi-regional theory
Answers
Answer: The first, or the multiregional hypothesis, states that Homo sapiens evolved from Homo erectus outside of Africa. This hypothesis suggests that Homo erectus slowly wandered out of Africa and inhabited other regions. Homo erectus looked somewhat human-like, having long legs and shorter arms. Like humans, it walked on two legs, and was larger and smarter than the earlier Homo species.
After leaving Africa, the populations of Homo erectus did not become completely isolated from one another, with groups interbreeding. Over time, Homo erectus evolved into Homo sapiens in different sections of the Old World. For example, people in China would have evolved from the Homo erectus living in China, while people living in Europe would have evolved from the Homo erectus living in Europe, and so on and so forth.
