The Parliament of India enacted an act in the year 1986 to protect the concerns of the consumers in India, this is known as the Consumer Protection Act. The following are the disadvantages of this act:

1. The Act includes only two clauses concerning the supply of perilous goods, but it does not inflict any stringent accountability on those who provide such products.

2. This Act does not permit the Consumer Redressal Fora to proceed either interim order or “cease and discontinue orders”. Interim Order applies to short restraint.

3. The Act does not authorize a consumer to complain to the Consumer fora if an alternative solution is accessible under some other grounds.
