Good morning respected Jury, my friends and my dear opponents. I am here to speak for the motion of the topic, ‘Disadvantages of friendship’.
Friendship we all know is a gift of God. A friend in need is the greatest boon. How then is friendship disadvantageous? Just as too much honey on an already sweet dish turns it better so does too much of friendship.
Friendship makes us dependent. It kills in us the will-power to do something on our own. This spoils are self-confidence and decision making ability.
Friends are often misleading. They force us to take wrong decisions. For an adolescent friendship often turns out to be more harmful than useful. Friends tend to protect each other from parents, teachers and elders and eventually helps one to land into trouble.
Most cases of elopement, murder, kidnapping result from friendship.
Addictions especially of drugs, alcohol are instigated by friendship. Not attending classes is a common trait among friends. Thus according to me there are many disadvantages of friendship.
