Though mid day meal scheme is an innovative scheme to get children from poor socioeconomic status to enroll for elementary education it has been facing serious problems. This is mainly due to :
Poor quality of food served due to inadequate infrastructure
Adverse impact on children’s health & subsequent reduction in attendance
1) Corruption is to the large extent in this scheme
2) Children are provided with a very low quality of food
3) At some places this scheme do not work properly
4) Some people make profit by selling the products given by the government to the schools etc
5) The food given are of low quality , rather are rotten or spoilt and it does not meet the minimum requirements of nutrients etc
