Weedicides are water-soluble chemicals, that can be sprayed on the weeds to kill them/ stop their growth.

Disadvantages of weedicides:

1. They have the potential to trigger cancer in humans, upon consumption without sterilising and washing the crop thoroughly in water
2. Since they are water-soluble, excess water can carry away the chemicals into nearby water bodies and cause water-borne diseases like dysentery, etc.
3. The weedicides can also affect the pH of soil. It can lead to acidification of soil or make it alkaline.
4. they can destroy the micro-organisms in the soil, leading to reduction in fertility of the soil.
5. Weedicides can be severe skin or eye irritants, it can cause rashes and skin/ eye allergies.

There are numerous more disadvantages, but I couldn't mention them here due to time constraints.
