Although helmets have been made mandatory to wear while riding 2-wheelers and while working in factories and places with heavy loads, there are a few disadvantages that could occur due to wearing helmets.
1. Long-time wearing of helmets may cause sweating leading to skin rashes.
2. Friction due to the helmets on the forehead can cause skin infections and rashes like soreness and dermatitis.
3. A fully-covered helmet causes shortness of breath due to the belt across the throat and covered mouthpiece.
4. When there is an accident, the additional weight of wearing the helmet may cause serious brain injury.
5. Blocks vision and hearing - Wearing a helmet blocks the peripheral vision and impairs hearing to an extent due to the cushions present on the sides. This might affect the awareness due to lack of basic senses.
