Discipline is like when you scold or tell off a someone. Disciplining your child would be like punishing them so they learn from their actions. Training however is more like constant practice. Whilst discipline is punishment, training is not.

EXAMPLE: "I disciplined my dog" would be scolding them.

"I trained my dog" would be telling them to sit and giving them a treat when they do it
