Answer:

Discipline not only in schools but in every aspect of life is a must for the development and rightful working of anyone's life and society. It maintains the balance between good and evil and helps man in living and leading a peaceful life.

Explanation:

When we talk of discipline, one immediately thinks it involves strict punishments and rules that restricts them from doing things. On the contrary, it really is not. Discipline means the set of rules that helps maintain a proper balance in our lives, but doesn't have full control of our lives too.

Discipline in school especially has been a really alarming issue from recent years now. Students have started opposing the school authorities, and at times even their own parents. This rebellious streak may be the result of many things but one of them is the recent boom and availability of advanced technology in their hands. Parents can't always keep an eye on what contents they view on the phones, nor can they really hear of all the things discussed and said during their chats or phone calls with friends and others. This continues even in the school. They turn up dressing differently, looking weirder or even inappropriate for a student to be. Then they also boldly endure and stand up against the teacher, even at times fighting with them. There hardly is any respect given to the teachers, especially in the higher classes.

All these are a result of unchecked and ignored actions of the children by the adults around them. But if the schools are to make stricter rules, making it mandatory for the students to follow them, then it might somehow curb the misbehavior of these kids. Even if it amounts to a punishment, as long as it is for disciplining of a student, a teacher / school should not hesitate to do it, for it is for the betterment of them only.
