J.J. Thompson discovered the electron, the first of the subatomic particles, using the cathode ray tube experiment. He found that many different metals release cathode rays, and that cathode rays were made of electrons, very small negatively charged particles.

it's not cathode ray my friend, it's alpha particles (he 4 isotope) produced by radium which was covered by lead material. alpha particles passed into the gold foil and gave 3 results:-

most passed through it

some were deflected at less angle

few were deflected 180 degree.

it says

there empty space in atoms (nodes)

there are smaller +ve particles which proved JJ Thomson is wrong (plum pudding model)

there is centrally located nucleus

it was done by Rutherford and gave nuclear or planetary model of atom

please mark brainliest

NKBrainly: sorry i thought it was discovery of proton its not your answer
