Hey dear,
● Newland's law of octaves -
- Law of octaves states that if the chemical elements are arranged according to increasing atomic weight, those with similar physical and chemical properties occur after each interval of seven elements.
● Noble gases proved to be disadvantage because -
- Newland considered only 7 elements in each octave.
- When noble gases were discovered, it added one more element in each octave which made it difficult to fit them.
- Therefore, discovery of noble gases proved to be disadvantage to Newlands law of octaves.
