Voilent clashes broke out between two groups at Noida's Amity University last week over a parking dispute, in which two students were grievously injured. Two cross FIRs have been lodged in the incident, and police are investigating the matter.
Since Tuesday evening, videos and photos of the incident have gone viral on social media, raising questions on the brazenness of the incident and calling for action against the men who beat up students mercilessly. Harsh Yadav and Madhav Chaudhary received grievous injuries in the incident.
Students on Wednesday protested outside the university, taking out a car rally. They have raised questions over the security arrangements, and also demanded justice for Harsh, Madhav and Diwakar Tyagi whose names are there in the FIR.
The girl, in her FIR, said that Harsh, Madhav and Diwakar molested her. "They warned me not to come to college or my face would be disfigured. I was in my car when Harsh, Madhav and Diwakar came in a Hyundai i20 from a wrong direction. They told me to remove my car. Harsh came, opened my car's door and started abusing me. When I replied to him, he touched me inappropriately and held my arm and pushed me," the girl stated in her FIR.
Both Harsh and Madhav are final-year students of BA Political Science course at the private university. On Wednesday morning, Harsh left for his hometown in Mathura.
Madhav's head was severely injured and he received 13 stitches.
According to Madhav, around 2.30pm on August 28, he along with Harsh entered the university to attend classes. At the same time, a girl left her car parked in the middle of the road, leading to jam, he added.
