The narrator, meets Mr.Pescud coincidentally as Mr.Pescud throws a book on the aisle. The author describes Mr.Pescud as 'he is of the stuff that heroes are not often lucky enough to be made of'.Here,we think Mr.Pescud is very good enough than heroes. But,then the author says that: 'He is a small man with a wide smile, and an eye that seems to be fixed upon that little red spot on the end of your nose'.This is an irony,as the truth is,that Mr.Pescud is not handsome at all. When the author, and Mr.Pescud met, they discussed about rain,prosperity,health,resi-dence,and destination.
