The basis of Gender division in the society is based on the division of work between the men and women. The division is not based on any theory or research. A prejudiced person may not act on their attitude. Therefore, someone can be prejudiced towards a certain group but not  discriminate against them. Also, prejudiceincludes all three components of an attitude (affective, behavioral and cognitive), whereas discrimination just involves behavior.
