"We were all Humans, until Race disconnected us, Religion separated us, Politics divided us, Wealth classified us"
Have you ever thought of why you have only a limited number of close friends? You might be present in a class of 40 to 50 students, but you won't have all the 40 to 50 pupils to be in your close friends.
On a second thought, you would certainly come up with an answer called "interests". You make friends based on your interests. But before that, your mind comes up with a list on whom you must aspire to have as your friends. For example, if you are born and brought up in a very clean environment, you will certainly not like people who are ugly in looks & their works.
This was the same mindset for the elites of the 17th century. Only now we have the science of predicting the colour of the skin. But earlier, their jobs decided. People who were poor were made to do works which involved a hazardous environment. Some worked in farming, some in industries while others worked for elites.
Due to the sun's effect on skin, industrial chemicals and other natural effects, people started becoming dark. And that's when racism started. The people who were elites were light coloured due to which they started calling the down-trodden as 'blacks".
Now as I mentioned earlier about interests, the elites had also developed some interests. They were brought up in such a way that they never saw down-trodden till their youth. Due to this, whenever they saw down-trodden or blacks, they started to develop hatred which gradually transformed to discrimination.
Possible causes of discrimination are:
The way a person is brought up in his childhood.
The way a person respects others.
If the person is taught only to respect based on his/her status, certainly the discrimination would escalate. And if you are made to grow only in an environment which is not exposed to any down-trodden or difficulties, discrimination would escalate as well.
Now, whenever we are given a set of colours, most of them would go with the light coloured ones. And that is why, Whites discriminated on Blacks. And this still continues. Not 100% of the global population is against racism. There are people who still discriminate based on colours. A very good example would be the case of George Floyd in USA.
Speaking of remedies, it all depends one's own self. A thing to remember is, a person's life in future would be judged on how his childhood has been. A criminal's childhood would have been full of miserable incidents due to which his future is at stake. Hence speaking of possible remedies,
Possible Remedies of controlling racial discrimination would be:
Teaching Humanity
Teaching Respect
Respect people based on humanity. After all, only humans can help humans. So whenever you see a down-trodden person next time, dont take him as a bad example, instead change yourself into a person who would be helping him in creating a new shape to his life. By this, you are shaping the childhood of the future generation.
