The two most significant challenges that Indian democracy is facing are given below
(i) Casteism People from different castes form different communities and they have different interests. This has led to caste discrimination which is bad for the functioning of the democracy. It deprives citizens by not giving equal opportunities.
(ii) Communalism It means promoting the ideas of a particular religion with a view to divide the society on religious grounds. This also stops democracy from deepening and expansion.
To overcome these challenges, our country has been granted the status of secular which believes in the freedom to propagate religion for all.
