The female reproductive organs or genitalia are divided into external and internal organs.


● External genitalia :-)

* Vagina.


1. Labia majora :-))


This are 2 large folds which forms the boundary of the vulva.

It's homologous to scrotum in male.

They are composed of skin, fibrous tissue and fat.


2. Labia minora:-))

This are smaller thinner lip like folds located just medially to the labia majora.


Labia minora fused together to form fourchette .


3. Mons pubis :-))


It is fleshy elevation above the labia majora.


4. Clitoris :-))


It is made from erectile tissue. It homologous to male penis.


5. Vestibule :-)) It is madian vertical depression of vulva enclosing vagina And urethral opening.


6. Hymen :-)) It is thin layer of mucus membrane. it located at opening of vagina.
It is the sign of virginity but it is not true. Sometimes hymen can break due to horseriding and other sports and exercise.



7. Vestibular glands :-))


This are the pair of gland which occurs on each side of the vaginal opening. This glands are homologous to the cowper 's gland in male.

8. Breast :-))


This are pair of rounded structures found in pictorial region. this is the modification of sweat glands.

each breast contains fatty connective tissue and numerous lacteferous glands . it has 15 to 20 opening of lacteferous gland which carry milk from mammary gland to nipples.



9. Ovaries :-))

A pair of ovaries are the primary sex organ of the female reproductive system. They are almond shape. each majoring abound 3×1.5 ×1
in size.


Fallopian tubes :-))

This are pair of tube laying horizontally over the peritoneal cavity. each Fallopian tube is 10 to 12 cm long, narrow and muscular. Structure lined by cilliated epithelium. It conducts egg or ovum discharged from ovary.



Uterus :-))

Itis also known as womb. It is a pear shaped, highly muscular, thick walled, hollow organ.

8× 5×2 cm in size. It made from 3 layers. i.e.

perimetrium


myometrium


endometrium



Vagina :-))

This is a highly collapsible and highly distictible fibro muscular tube in which cervix opens.
It measures about 7.5 to 10 cm in length.

Vagina is a copultory passage as it recive erected penis during intercourse . It allows passage of menstrual flow.


It is also passage of birth . during parturition.
