Explanation:

New land system of the British ruler also created a serious impact on the Indian economy. During the East India Company rule, the company administrators imposed land revenue at exorbitant rates and thereby realised larger returns from land. Thereafter, the British Government introduced the land settlement in 1793.

Answer:

The most important impact is “Unification of the country” due to Railways projects, In-numerous cities got connected and the English started procuring goods from Indian workshops and industries (Please read Sir JN Tata’s pioneering industries) for the British Expeditionary Force of Lord Napier, this gave the economic strength and confidence on the country called India.

The second important impact was Lord Macaulay’s introduction of schools in India, the English language which bonded the heterogeneous Indians with a common official language and most importantly the eagerness to understand the western philosophy and scientific research which was widely considered as infinitely superior to our ancient civilization.

The third important impact was the Christian Church which promoted a very healthy competition among all the sectarian Christian communities which gave us AO Hume, Annie Besant, Madam Blavatsky, Max Mueller, Ronald Ross, CF Andrews etc. who considered Indians equally in status with other English citizens, this gave the most important thing for Indians “Aspiration, Self Respect, Confidence” through which they formed the first Indian political party “Congress”.

The fourth important impact was the missionary hospitals, which took patients with open arms without considering the caste, religion and most importantly affordability and treated common citizens with a missionary zeal which reduced abysmally ridiculous mortality rates with immediate effect.

There are far too many social impacts to list, we can create a massive book of changes which happened when we write about India’s formation years. My question to avid Quora readers is “What if Spain or Belgium or Portugal had occupied India instead of the British ? Can you imagine the outcome?”
