The Doctrine of Lapse means that any king died without his own son not by taken son then,his property will go to the East India Company.Lord Dalhousie started this system.

If any Indian king did not have a male heir to inherit the king’s property then the kingdom or region will belong to the British
This rule was made by East India Company
