Discuss an activity to show that a current carrying wire can act like a magnet. Also draw a circuit diagram for the same ​

Place a magnetic compass near the wire. Connect the two ends of the wire to a battery cell. And, we can see that the magnetic compass will deflect. Hence, the deflection proves that a current carrying wire behaves like a magnet.

ans.oersted experiment:

1.take a 24 gauge wire and place on a 1 cm stick with slit on them

2.now connect battery e-switch in series with the 24 gauge wire

3.switch on the circuit

4.now please magnetic compass beneath off 24 gauge wire it shows the deflection hence current carrying wire behaves as a magnet
