Value added services refer to all the manipulation a raw material goes through before it becomes a final product.
SADC refers to countries in the Southern African Development Community. By looking at the strengths of their economy, they have identified several sectors that they can focus on for value added services.
Agro-processing. Which will help the agriculturally rich region add value to its agricultural products e.g flour milling and better post harvest storage facilities. SADC countries are endowed with natural extractive resources which they export unrefined but can add value to. They can process their gold and diamonds in the region rather than exporting raw products,
The financial services, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods are other industries they have identified whose products can benefit from value added services.
