Answers
Answer:
(b) Adaptation of Cactus:-
1.thick, waxy skin to reduce loss of water and to reflect heat.
2. large, fleshy stems to store water.
3. thorns and thin, spiky or glossy leaves to reduce water loss.
4.spikes protect cacti from animals wishing to use stored water.
(c) Adaptation of Mountain goat :-
1. Thick, woolly coats protect them from cold temperatures, wind and other animals.
2. Short, strong legs help them climb and jump on uneven surfaces.
3. Mountain goats can be recognized by their shiny black horns and shaggy white beards.
(d) Adaptation of pine tree
1. They are cone-shaped, with flexible branches which help them to cope with heavy snow fall.
2. Pine cones protect the seeds during the harsh winter.
3. The thin waxy needles reduce water loss. Their evergreen nature means that the needles can photosynthesise whenever there is sufficient sunlight.
