The Gaseous state is characterised by four parameters :

  • Gas Pressure
  • Gas Volume
  • Temperature
  • No. of moles

Two of the parameters are discussed below :

⏭️ Gas Pressure :

The gas molecules are in random motion in all possible direction with different velocity. They collide among themselves and they also collide with the walls of the container. While colliding with the walls they exert force and the force per unit area is called Gas Pressure.

⏭️ No. of Moles :

Quantity of a gas present in a gaseous system is termed as no. of moles.

Formula -

 \boxed{ \sf{No.  \: of \:  Moles = \:    \frac{Given  \:  \: mass}{Molar \:  \:  mass}}}
