Some of the propagating modes of the electromagnetic waves are

TEM mode [Transverse Electric Magnetic], where the E and H are two longitudinal components, propagating along the direction of propagation

TE mode [Transverse Electric], where the component of E in the diection of propagation equals zero

TM mode [Transverse Magnetic], where the component of M in the diection of propagation equals zero

TE and TM can propagate in the waveguides

TEM can propagate in the coaxial cable, and can’t propagate in the waveguide.
