• Every district was given two courts, one for civil cases and the other for criminal cases.
• Calcutta was home to two High Courts, one named Sadar Diwani Adalat and the other named Sadar Faujdari Adalat.
• District court appeals were sent to Sadar Adalats for final decisions.
