Answer

In the work, "The Dolphins" by Carol Ann Duffy, there is a poem which is written in the form of a monologue. This monologue is quite emotional as it uses the dolphins perspective to explain its life, problems, rights and much more.

This poem is a clear cut depiction of how animal rights are violated and they suffer due to the inhumane actions of the human beings.

                                                   PLEA

For anyone who is out there listening, we all need to stop hunting and polluting at once. Indeed we need our resources for multiple purposes and to fulfill demands, but we do not want blood on our hands even if its animals blood. We humans are responsible for degrading the environment and habitat of those whose language we do not understand. These poor animals are suffering because of our actions. We cannot simple trap animals and expect them to entertain us for our liking. This is a horrible doing on our part and we must put an end to it at once.

Explanation:

In the poem 'The Dolphins' by Carol Ann Duffy, the poetess describes the sufferings that the dolphins undergo in the hands of humans. In a way, it is a plea to preserve the rights of animals and other creatures. The poem is from the angle of the dolphins.

The dolphins state that their freedom has been curtailed by the humans who have trapped them and made them perform in the aquariums and circus. The freedom with which they swam in the sea is now lost.

‘They feel confined by their trainers.' The poem urges humans to empathize with animals and wildlife and not to be cruel to them.
