Effects of Air pollution

Effects of health :

Most of the

pollutants present in air are harmful for living organisms. Gases

like oxide of sulphur and nitrogen,

ash particles, smoke, etc, it is very

harmful for animals as well as humans.

Acid rain :

When fossil fuel burnt such as coal and petroleum are burnt, some acidic gas like oxide of sulphur and nitrogen are released into air. The oxide Combined with the water vapour present in air to form nitric and sulphuric acid. These small amounts of acid fall down on earth from of rain. Such rain is called acid rain. Acid rain is very harmful for plant.

Global warming :

This helps in keeping the Earth's temperature high enough for life to exist. Carbon dioxide, methane and water vapour are some green house present in air. It affects the climate of the Earth.
