The aged persons face a lot of social problems in our society because;

1) In most of the cases aged persons become physically disabled to some extent which cause different types of problems for them and the people around them.

2) The mental health issues are also a major problem for the old age people.

3) Most of the younger people have a tendency to avoid older people which creates a social loneliness for the old people.

4) The oldage homes are often a reason behind the problems of the old people because the maintenance of these oldage homes are not good, sometimes.

Contributory factors that lead to social problem locally and globally in old age:

i. Loneliness- During old age people started feeling isolated from family and friends. They started feeling negative about losing their child. They are not able to balance their needs which results in loss of confidence and ultimately it leads to loneliness.

ii. Mental health- Due to ageism old people has difficulty in accepting physical changes.  

iii. Financial Status- Old people suffers from financial stress because loss their regular income due to ageism.

iv. Boredom- After their retirement old people started feeling bore because they don’t have regular activities to do.
