The earth’s crust has been formed out of many major and minor plates. The Gondwana land was part of the ‘Pangea’. The conventional currents split the crust into a number of pieces, leading to the drifting of the Indo-Australia plate away from Gondwana land. The northern drift resulted in the collision of the plate with much larger Eurasian plate. This led to formation of northern plains,the Himalayas and the peninsular plateau.this is how the presence landform of India came inoto existence.
